MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK

Ponyboy is my favorite character of The Outsiders. In the book, the main quote to remember is "Stay Gold" which is like saying stay innocent. Ponyboy is the most innocent out of the whole gang. He is the most innocent because he hasn't witnessed all the hardships that the rest have. Ponyboy inspired me because he, unfortunately, lived in a very tough environment but still managed to be kind, intelligent, and even mindful because he loves sunsets. The story of the Outsiders, tells you that there are good people and bad people no matter what environment they were brought up in. Just because someone was brought up in a wealthy better neighborhood doesn't make them a kind, or good person, just as being brought up in a poor neighborhood doesn't make for a bad or violent person. So it doesn't matter whether you might be a Greaser or a Soc, there are good and bad people in every class.
